How I Froze 200 Mini Pizzas (and 23 Individual Ones!) for Easy Summer Meals
School’s out, summer’s in — and the kids are always hungry. Instead of scrambling for lunch every day, I prepped and froze 200 mini pizzas (perfect for toddlers) and 23 individual-sized pizzas (great for older kids and teens). These freezer pizzas are a lifesaver during busy weeks, and the best part? They’re fully homemade — with a soft, freezer-friendly dough and simple pantry ingredients.
Whether you're planning make-ahead meals, lunchbox fillers, or just want to get ahead in the kitchen, this post has everything you need to know.
Welcome To Smart Kitchen BY EYA
Hi, I’m EYA — here to help you cook smarter, save time, reduce food waste, and make the most of every corner of your kitchen.
Why These Pizzas Freeze So Well
I use one dough and one sauce recipe for both versions — the only difference is the size and portion. Plus, here’s a trick I swear by:
👉 I add the sauce before baking the dough. Then once baked, I sprinkle the cheese while the pizzas are still hot. The residual heat melts the cheese just enough to make it stick, without getting messy in the freezer.
No soggy crusts. No toppings falling off. Just easy, grab-and-bake pizzas that taste fresh and homemade.

Kid-Friendly, Mom-Approved
Mini pizzas: Great for toddlers, lunchboxes, or party trays.
Individual pizzas: Perfect for older kids, teens, or adults who want their own personal pizza.
Same recipe. Same steps. Just adapted size for different appetites.
Easy Homemade Pizza Sauce
Flavorful, freezer-safe, and quick to make:
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp dried parsley
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt (make sure your tomato sauce is unsalted)
📝 Note: I doubled the sauce for my big batch.
My Pizza Assembly + Freezing Method
Here’s my exact step-by-step:
Shape the dough into mini or individual-sized pizzas.
Spread the sauce evenly on each raw crust.
Bake in a preheated oven for 7–10 minutes, until the crust is lightly golden.
Right out of the oven, sprinkle cheese on top. The heat melts it just enough to stick, without fully cooking it.
Cool completely on wire racks.
Freeze flat on trays for 2–3 hours.
Transfer to freezer bags or airtight containers, with parchment between layers to prevent sticking.

Step-by-Step: How to Make the Pizza Dough
This dough is soft, fluffy, and freezes beautifully. Here’s how to make it from scratch:
Ingredients:
200 ml warm water
120 ml warm milk
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp instant dry yeast
100 ml olive oil
3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
Dough Instructions:
Activate the yeast:
In a small bowl or measuring cup, combine warm water and warm milk. Add the sugar and yeast, stir gently, and cover.
→ Let it sit for 15 minutes until bubbly and foamy.⚠️ Important: If the yeast doesn't react or bubble, it’s no good. Don’t waste your ingredients — toss it and start again with fresh yeast.
Make the dough:
In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, salt, and olive oil. Pour in the activated yeast mixture and mix well until a sticky dough forms.Let it rise:
Cover the bowl with a clean towel and let the dough rise for 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on your room temperature.
→ The dough should double in size.Shape your pizzas:
Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into small balls. Shape into mini pizzas (about palm-sized) or individual pizzas (about 6–8 inches wide), depending on your needs.
📝 Batch Notes:
I doubled the recipe for 200 mini pizzas
I used 1½ times the recipe for 23 individual pizzas
